Well, now that Mongoose has issued its RuneQuest press release (see news for a link), I thinks its about time we start judging what people feel about a new RuneQuest game.
What I do know is it will be a new game, not a 4th edition rules update. Having been involved in play testing, I can mention that the look and feel will be there, so anyone worrying that it will be a version of d20 can relax.
So, what comments? What is the general feel of the public. Good thing, bad thing? I personally reckon it will be a good thing as it should bring a new generation of players to a game that is starting to become decidedly aged (the average age of RQ players is over 30).
On a similar vein, it looks like this version will be open source, so keen smaller companies can get in on the deal and publish some of their own words. What, if anything, would people be interested in, taking into account that Mongoose has been mandated to cover Glorantha. Would anyone like to see material on Gæa published? Special Rules? What else?
