While RuneQuest.za.org is a fan site and as such publishes the odd useful resource, I have been trying to focus my efforts in two main areas:
1. The world of Gaea
2. Adventure modules
While both of these are fun to create and hopefully as much fun for site visitoirs to use, a lot of effort goes into them, adventure modules in particular. In the ideal world I would just set up a company, print a few hundred modules and flog them over the net, but the financial ramifications of such an action would be akin to me just tossing my sestertii into the tiber.
I would however (well honestly, who wouldn't) like to receive some sort of financial reward for my hard efforts. To this end I propose installing a honesty box concept. My upcoming (give it few months to write and edit) adventure will be freely downloadable to all subscribers, however downloaders will be encouraged to make a donation to the author. Maybe one euro per download. I could use PayPal as the engine through which to receive such payments.
Well, what do you think? A shamless attempt to rake in cash or a honest quantitative method to guage interest in published material.
