Many norwegian kings in the Snorre sagaes + Richard Lionhart died -not from beeing hit by arrows, but trying to get them out! Some arrowheads (and spearheads) were designed to loosen from the shaft, and stay put in the wound when the arrow (or spearshaft) was removed. Some arrowheads had crude v-shapes, allmost as tridents, sometimes as wide as 4 cm!!!
I'm gonna introduce AP-arrowheads that don't cause additional damage for retrieving (provided the arrowhead comes out with the arrow), and hunting arrowheads that are less effective agains armor, but cause another damage roll upon retrival.
This still haven't solved my grudge against the impaling rules, that I still seek an opertunety to remove from my games.
