In Glorantha, the orcs got replaced by the UZ; trolls. I think the way they're described in various sourcebooks is quite similar to what you describe here, so this is a tip to you to get uour hands on the UZ sourcebooks that -despite horrible layout and picktures (turns away to puke) ...describes a very cool consept that despite primitive in tech, have a society in many aspects far more civilized than the humans.
They just focus on different things...
