Another slash suggestion

Here's an old suggestion I offered back on the old RQ mailing list in the late '90s. On a special success with a slashing weapon, no extra damage, but the bleeding rules take effect. In other words, even though the affected hit location might well be at positive hit points after the slash, an important blood vessel has been opened, and the victim will start losing 1 HP each round he doesn't make CON x 5, until he makes CON x 1 or receives a successful First Aid.
There is some simplicity to this solution, in that the bleeding rules already exist, so we add no complexity this way. Also, it parallels the impaling rules somewhat, in that when someone gets impaled, they have a very strong reason to stop fighting, lest their continued wiggling around make the wound worse. Likewise, the slashed victim has a reason to drop his sword and clutch his wound in a desperate attempt to stop his lifeblood from draining out all over the floor.
Basically, I'm in favour of anything that allows battles to end in something other than instant mortality.
