I love your ideas. Insofar as Gæa is concerned, our group discussed alternate "wierd world" shapes. I think a flat world was chucked out as being too Pratchettesque. I personally like the globe concept, as it gives a decent model to work on, but there should be no restriction. I recall Peter Maranci (there is a link to his site in RQ Links) once adventured in a campaign totally made up of islands randomly floating about in the sky.

As fare as magic and technology goes, I like those ideas of yourse too. If one can have diseases and wounds cured by bantering with spirits/entrreating the gods and even have limbs regrown, who needs serious medicine. Of course basic physicians and herbalists would still exist as magic should be rare and too expensive for the average person (in my opinion).

As far as othe rtechnology goes, I suppose its the worl designers/GM's call. I am sure most players would abhore someone arriving with gunnpowder etc as it would detract from the fantasy element. on the other hand, alchemests are probarbly too busy turning lead into gold, ha ha. but technology is very broad. Look at arcitecture, there should always be little tweeks and changes, even in earths dark ages arcitecture did advance, although very slowly.

as for Gæa, its a growing world that my group like to have fun in, we are trying to provide new and interesting material, but its really impossible to cater to everyones taste. As in many other games, use what you like and bin the rest!
