DEMON LORD
BY
T.C. SOUTHWELL
In the mystical domain of Myrthran, there are three realms; of the Light, of
Darkness, and of Neutrality. The evil that has been locked away in the
Underworld for a thousand years will be unleashed by a mortal god stolen
from the Light and raised in Darkness. None can defeat Bane, the Demon Lord,
and only he can break the seven blue wards that bind the Black Lord,
Arkonen, below. Yet an innocent girl child, born of the Light, is sent into
the Darkness to redeem him. Bane has been forged by the fires of Hell,
taught only hatred and tempered by pain and rage, Mirra has only known
kindness and love, and knows nothing of her purpose. She must turn him from
his savage path of bloodshed and destruction, but her love is pitted against
fierce loyalty and a false blood bond as well. Bane will not be swayed, and
breaks the final ward, freeing the dark god, Arkonen, who betrays Bane and
leaves him to die. But while Mirra’s fragile hold on Bane’s heart makes him
cling to life, the Overworld is doomed unless she can turn him to the
Light …
‘Demon Lord’ is the first part of a two-part story; the sequel to be
published in 2007. It tells of the ultimate battle between good and evil,
illustrating the futility of fighting evil with weapons of war, and that
only compassion and kindness will turn Darkness into Light with the most
powerful weapon of all. Love. It is a gripping, character-driven story full
of mystery and adventure set against a harrowing backdrop of bloodshed and
death, but with a thread of romance guaranteed to keep the reader turning
the page. Its target market is young adults, and it will also appeal to the
majority of fantasy readers.
