Mongoose Publishing has been contracted to release a new version of RuneQuest.

Updated, press release from Mongoose:
Mongoose Press Release
Mongoos Publishing has been contracted by Issaries (the GLorantha people) who in turn obtained the RuneQuest trademark in USA to publish an updated edition of RuneQuest.
Initial reservations that they may destroy teh system by going d20 have been proven unfounded. Yours truly has been accepted as a playtester and while I am not at liberty to say much, I can assure you that Mongoose appears to be committed to keeping to the spirit of previous RuneQuest editions and with that - which includes staying percentile.

Hi,
I noticed there is going to be a new edition of RQ coming out. For the past 3 years or so I have been designing and mastering a campaign with RQ rules as the base framework but otherwise built custom rules on top of it.
I'd like to write RPG content as a part-time job but don't know anybody in the business. As you are play-testing for Mongoose, you might be able to point me in the right direction.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Lauri

Hi Lauri
Firstly, my apologies for not responding sooner. I have not had much time this year to update the site. Also, due to my lack of time, I was not earmarked for the final play test group. Some people on the Rune Quest rules list are now official playtesters. By the sounds fo things, the new edition is pretty true to previous editions and sounds like it wil be really nice. I suppose only time and play will tell.
As far as writing material goes, I think the best would be to contact Mongoose directly. They are hinting at RuneQuest being open source, so maybe you will be able to publish some of your material. Good luck!
Tony
