Updated Publication Schedule

Top level Old Articles Archive GÆA

The following article details a loose schedule for proposed publications on this site. Although it is presently only aimed at the world of Gæa, further expansions may occur in the future.

Updated III January MMIII

THE UPDATED BIT

Well it seems that the original schedule was not adhered to. It\'s amazing how as soon as one gets enthusiastic about something, someone else has to come along with piles of work to ensure you can\'t doi anything about your enthusiasm. @#$% work, don\'t they realise I have a site to maintain!

Anyway, work on Gæa has been going much slower than anticipated, but some progress is being made. After a short meeting, the following was decided:

For now no new dates wil be set as deadlines seem to just ensure something happens to make them impossible to meet. I appeal to all site members for support and ideas. thanks to those who have already submitted material.

THE OLD BIT

Gæa is a world with huge potential as a campaign setting. The most developed continent so far is Gaia, as extensive play has occurred there, allowing its creators to expand greatly on the rough map it startes as.

Gaia is also going to be an \"open campaign\". The aim is for registered users of Runequest.za (.orc) to adventure there and submit articles, adventures, campaign journals etc, thereby allowing their character\'s actions to directly influence the world around them.

Setting

The setting is aimed at a true Rune Quest world, bronze age to early Roman republic in technology. Magic does exist, but is not blatanttly and/or easily wielded. A practitioner of sorcery is more likley to end up excecuted than to ever attain great power. Gods are grim and aloof, while the spirit plane is very real and dangerous.

Gaia itself is a melting point. War is common, with cultures and races constantly clashing.

Schedule

It has been necissary to direct our efforts as until now, most work has been ad hoc and haphazard. We are currently having a bit of a private competition to see who can draw the best map. Tony is using AutoRealm while Carol is using Coral Draw. Other registered users are welcome to Contact Us if they would like to participate.

By the end of 2002, we plan to have published the following:
