Artifacts

In Rune Quest, artifacts are rare, mostly one of a kind, treasures. Some have magical powers while others are symbols or items which belonged to someone famous. Artifacts are not easily obtainable. Sturdy adventurers must delve into ancient ruins, break into tombs and brave many dangers to obtain such treasures. Powerful artifacts often attract powerful enemies who may wish to remove them from a characters person. On the other hand rich and powerful patrons may pay handsomely for someone brave enough to retrieve these treasures.
